The calving barn is connected to the main barn and needs some replacing of eves troughs, wood and paint to restore it to it's original condition.
As the times are changing we'd like to take advantage of technology and help the environment by converting to solar energy.
As the herd expands we need to make sure there is adequate room for the cows to live. This project is going to double the size of the current heifer barn.
Composting keeps the soil for the fields in nutrient-rich condition to allow the crops to flourish.
Keeping machinery in top condition preserves the life and function of the machine. We need to make sure the machine shed is up to date so our tools don't get damaged.
While the large silage bags have worked for many years, it's better to have a concrete silage bunker to preserve freshness and provide the best quality food possible to our cattle. We will pour the concrete close to where the silage is currently stored.
This barn has been standing for decades and is still fully functional. Repairs are needed to keep it up to date. Replacing a few eves troughs and some of the wood and putting a much needed a new coat of paint on would modernize the whole building.
